– 500g fresh green beans, trimmed (or 3 cups canned or frozen green beans)
– 1 can (400g) cream of mushroom soup
– 1/2 cup milk
– 1 teaspoon soy sauce
– 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
– 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese (optional)
– 1 1/2 cups French-fried onions
Instructions
1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. If using fresh green beans, blanch them in boiling water for 5 minutes, then drain. If using canned or frozen green beans, drain or thaw and set aside.
3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cream of mushroom soup, milk, soy sauce, black pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese (if using). Mix well.
4. Add the green beans to the bowl and stir until they are evenly coated with the sauce.
5. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish. Spread it out in an even layer.
6. Top the casserole with French-fried onions.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for 25ā30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the onions are golden brown.
8. Let cool slightly before serving.
